Juan Alvarez (He/Him)
24 years old
2D animator from Mexico studying in Canada.
Constantly doing a portfolio.
I am not an expert in animation history, but I have been intrigued to it, doing research to get a general idea of how the industry evolved and adapted across every context and time.
After looking to some
unusual works that some few know about, I started to appreciate
animation as an element of expression. I, as you the reader, am excited
to explore the techniques used for each decade and its reception from
the public.
My introduction to animation began in my early childhood, watching various films and series with diverse stories, styles, personalities, contexts, and well, many other elements that create a full production.
I took the decision to enter this industry because I want to make sure that entertainment still exists and stays accessible for everyone. Also, I want to give my own perspective of life, lessons in life, feelings, inspirational tales, all of this in radical and explosive ways that can make you feel (of course, there are some limits depending the audience and the specifications to accomplish), because in the end, it is a form of art.
